Blue Devil Golfers Open LSU Classic with Lead

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Duke women’s golf team featured an excellent day Friday jumping out to the team and individual leads at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic as the field played 36 holes at the 6,247-yard, par 72 University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

Duke collected rounds of 285 and 286 for a five-under-par, 571, and leads by 13 strokes over Oklahoma State (584). Rounding out the top 10 teams are Arkansas (584), NC State (588), SMU (595), Denver (595), Washington (599), Clemson (602), UNC Wilmington (602) and Kansas (604).

Blue Devil junior Leona Maguire carded a five-under-par, 67, in round one to take the individual lead and then fired a four-under-par, 68, in round two and holds a five-stroke lead with a nine-under-par, 135.
