DURHAM, N.C. – After concluding an impressive career by leading Duke to the NCAA semifinals for the second time in three seasons, redshirt senior goalkeeper Lauren Blazing has been named one of four nominees for the prestigious Honda Sport Award for field hockey.
Blazing, who last week received All-America distinction for the third straight year, guided the Blue Devils to a 49-29 ledger in her four seasons as the team’s starting goalkeeper. As a redshirt senior, Blazing paced the ACC and ranked eighth in the country in save percentage (.778) en route to collecting first team All-America, All-South Region and All-ACC accolades.
