CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Representing the Duke women's tennis team at the NCAA Individual Championships this week, junior Chloe Beck secured her spot in the round of 32 after scoring a three-set victory over California's No. 71 Jessica Alsola in her opening match of the singles draw.
Beck faced some early adversity in the matchup after dropping a tight first set, 6-4, but the ninth-ranked junior didn't let that deter her. Beck bounced back in set two, jumping out to a 4-1 advantage en route to registering a 6-4 decision to even the contest at one set apiece.
