ORLANDO – Sixth-seeded Chloe Beck and senior Georgia Drummy of the Duke women's tennis team advanced to the round of 32 of the NCAA Singles Championship on Monday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
Beck, who hails from Watkinsville, Ga., collected a 6-2, 6-4 victory over 91st-ranked Taylor Melville of Denver. With the win, Beck moved to 32-4 on the season and reached the round of 32 for the second straight year. She will face 22nd-ranked Jaedan Brown of Michigan on Tuesday.
"It definitely feels good to get that first win under my belt," said Beck.
