DURHAM, N.C. – Duke opened its weekend series against No. 18 Clemson with a 5-3 victory and the Blue Devils earned their fourth straight win overall Friday evening at Jack Coombs Field.
Duke (16-14, 5-8 ACC) has now won six of its past seven games and is hitting .305 as a team during that span.
Sophomore Peter Zyla matched his career high with three hits Friday versus Clemson (22-8, 7-6 ACC). Duke’s starting right fielder also contributed two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. The Blue Devils’ 7-8-9 hitters – Zyla, Zack Kone and Max Miller – combined for seven of Duke’s 12 hits on the evening.
