DURHAM, N.C. – Nearly 50 Major League Baseball scouts arrived to evaluate the Duke baseball team at Jack Coombs Field Thursday afternoon as part of the team's annual scout day.
The afternoon began with team batting practice followed by a round of infield/outfield, before the team took part in a nine-inning scrimmage.
Duke has produced 77 players selected in the MLB Draft, including five this past season. The Tampa Bay Rays drafted left-hander Graeme Stinson in the fourth round, while the Minnesota Twins selected right-hander Ben Gross in the 10th round.
