DURHAM, N.C. – Duke freshmen RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson have been named two of the 10 national semifinalists for the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy, presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the national player of the year in men’s college basketball.
Barrett and Williamson are first and second, respectively, in the ACC in points per game and aiming to the be the first freshman teammates in NCAA history to each average 20.0 points in a season. Barrett leads the ACC at 23.3 points per game, while Williamson is second in the conference at 21.
