CLEMSON, S.C. – A balanced effort on offense pushed No. 3 Duke past No. 19 Clemson, 13-9, in the conference series opener at McWhorter Stadium on Friday night.
With the win, the Blue Devils improve to 14-2 in conference play this season and 35-4 overall, while the Tigers drop to 28-12 and 11-5 in ACC play.
Sophomore Aminah Vega and senior Kelly Torres powered the offense, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate and combined to drive in eight of Duke's 13 runs. Senior Claire Davidson also played a role in the scoring, batting 1-for-3 with four RBI.
