Aveni Named First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke track & field graduate Brittany Aveni has become the first Blue Devil since 2019 to be named a First Team Academic All-American, as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.

Aveni's honor makes her the first Blue Devil to be named to the first team since men's soccer's Daniele Proch in 2019. She also becomes the first representative of Duke track & field to be named to any team since Juliet Bottorff in 2014. Aveni joins women's soccer's Delaney Graham (Second Team) and men's fencing's Finn Hossfeld (Third Team) as Duke honorees from this season.
