Over at ESPN, Graham Hayes has an interesting and thoughtful piece up on Duke’s new women’s basketball coach Kara Lawson.
As has been noted, Lawson does not have head coaching experience but she has a lot of experience in basketball, not least of all playing for and learning from Pat Head Summitt for four years.
He also points out that Lawson, and a few other young coaches, are moving into coaching from the WNBA:
“But as much as they are connected to the game’s past as protégés of legends, they are even more indicative of where we are going.
