Former Duke Basketball star Amile Jefferson and incoming freshman R.J. Barrett have been selected to wear their national team colors this summer in qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Jefferson is representing the United States, while Barrett is playing for Canada.
Barrett, the No. 1-ranked player in the 2018-19 class, was added to the Canadian Senior Men’s National Team Training Camp roster in June. He and his teammates will host a pair of qualifying games in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers next week.
Barrett shined as Canada swept a pair of exhibition games versus China in British Columbia on June 22 and June 24.
