DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore guard Grayson Allen was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Blue Devils’ wins over Siena and Bryant to open the season. The recognition marked the first weekly conference honor of Allen’s career.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native was dominant in Duke’s wins over Siena and Bryant as part of the 2K Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project, averaging 27.0 points on .516 shooting from the floor, .417 shooting from beyond the arc and .944 shooting from the free throw line.
After coming up one point shy of his career high with 26 points against Siena in the Blue Devils’ opener on Friday, Allen exploded for a career-best 28 points against Bryant on Saturday while also establishing a new personal-best with a game-high six assists.
