DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore Grayson Allen played an integral role in Duke’s run to the Sweet 16 this season, accounting for nearly 27 percent of the team’s total scoring throughout the year. After averaging 9.2 minutes of action per game as a freshman, the Jacksonville, Fla., native saw a significant increase in playing time, competing in 36.6 minutes per game during the 2015-16 campaign. Allen took full advantage of his opportunity, improving his scoring output by 17.2 points per game, an ACC record. Allen’s efforts earned him a slew of postseason honors, being named a Wooden All-American, a second-team All-America selection by The Sporting News and a third-team All-America honoree by the NABC, among others.
