Proficient passing is not equivalent to bunting in baseball as a lost art, but it’s most assuredly one of basketball’s most under-recognized skills. And, whether analysts discuss it or not, it doesn’t bode well for Duke that, from 2014-15 to this season, no ACC team lost players who accounted for a higher percentage of its assists. Boston College, overmatched to begin with, comes close to the Blue Devils in experiencing the exits of its most proficient passers, but Duke takes the cake.
