We should’ve known Wednesday would be wacky when the first story of the day was Xavier Johnson and Pitt splitting up.
You may recall that Capel complained recently that he hasn’t been able to teach Johnson self-control when it comes to officials and such. It could be a plus for Pitt but a promising backcourt is now gone (Trey McGowens has already transferred to Nebraska).
If Justin Champagnie goes pro after this season - he’s very promising but he’s not ready - Pitt could be in some trouble next year.
Then the games started.
Given the bizarre nature of this season, it’s no surprise that UNC scheduled a quickie with the Fighting Wojos of Marquette, and fight they did.
