In Sunday’s sole ACC game, NC State outlasted Pitt 65-62 to move to 12-9. Pitt led briefly but after State moved ahead 7-4 the Panthers never led again.
This was the first game, after all, that Pitt has played after leading scorers Xavier Johnson and Au’Diese Toney departed last week and all things considered, Pitt did well.
Didn't win, true, but the Panthers played hard and freshman Femi Odukale, taking over for the departed Johnson at point guard, the only position Capel believes matter or even exists anymore, did very well.
He finished with 18 points and had five rebound and five assists to just one turnover.
