In Monday’s ACC action, Virginia predictably pounded Morgan State, 83-45, Florida State razed Troy 83-67 and Niagara nipped Pitt by one, 71-70.
Pitt thus falls to 7-2 but is merely two points from being undefeated.
Full credit to Niagara though as the Purple Eagles won despite not having the services of Marvin Prochet, perhaps their best player.
It’s exam break at most schools so it’s understandable to an extent that things didn’t go perfectly for Pitt, which by the way had 18 turnovers.
Even so, the Panthers had a chance to win when Xavier Johnson missed a buzzer beating layup.
