ACC basketball has a lot of traditions. The Cameron Crazies. The old sound meter in Reynolds. The motorcycle riding Deacon. And then there’s UNC’s favorite tradition, handed down from Dean to Bill to Matt to Roy: pretending that Player A is so injured that he’ll be out for weeks, only to have him make a miraculous return quite soon. In a perfect world, it happens at home and inspires the crowd.
Just a few days ago, Armando Bacot hurt his ankle against Ohio State and Ol’ Roy said he’d be out “for a while.”
So naturally he started at Virginia and shot better than anyone on the team.
