ACC Alliance With Big Ten, Pac-12 Formally Announced

Well the ACC/Big Ten/Pac-12 alliance is official. The leagues said they hoped to have “a collaborative approach surrounding the future evolution of college athletics and scheduling.”

For “future evolution,” feel free to substitute “limiting the power and reducing the influence of the SEC.”

But whatever.

The scheduling part is going to take years since schedules are built years out, but it’ll be interesting to see teams like Colorado, or Wisconsin or NC State come to Wallace Wade.

Hey, a guy can dream.

This is what ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said: “The ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 recognize the unique environment and challenges currently facing intercollegiate athletics, and we are proud and confident in this timely and necessary alliance that brings together like-minded institutions and conferences focused on the overall educational missions of our preeminent institutions.
