Moments ago, during halftime of the Geico Nationals semi-final matchup between Montverde Academy and AZ Compass, Trevor Keels announced he would be attending Duke University in the Fall to play for Coach K and the Blue Devils.
Keels, 6′ 5″, is ranked as the #16 overall prospect (#2 shooting guard) according to 247Sports.com. He selected Duke over Villanova, Virginia, and Kentucky.
Jerry Mayer, Director of Basketball Scouting for 247Sports, says Keels has “tremendous physical strength for a shooting guard. Has length as well. Highly competitive with an impressive basketball IQ. Plays a power game but can score from all three levels.
