After Duke’s exhilarating run to the ACC championship in Brooklyn, Sunday’s announcement of the 2017 NCAA Tournament bracket was something of a letdown.
It’s not that Duke got screwed or anything – No. 2 in the East is a reasonable placement. It means Duke gets to play two games in Greenville and, winning those, will get the chance to return to New York City for the regional semifinals and finals in Madison Square Garden, which is almost a home away from home for the Devils.
It’s just that the Selection Committee was so lazy, always taking the easy way out.
