Outwardly expressing your love for Duke basketball comes with serious risks. For example, people wearing Blue Devils attire have been hit in the head with batteries in at least one opposing team’s arenas (if you want to know the name of the school where it happened, just ask Carlos Boozer’s mom).
No matter where you wander outside of the 8,600 acres owned by Duke University, it takes courage to wear a Duke shirt. And it’s a type of courage that only Duke fans can truly comprehend.
