Our Duke basketball rumors update for August 7th:
6-foot-8 small forward Michael Porter Jr., one of the consensus top prospects of the Class of 2017, has trimmed his list of schools to ten with Duke basketball one of the programs who made the cut.
Per Raphielle Johnson of NBC's College Basketball Talk, Porter "made the announcement just days after his younger brother Jontay verbally committed to Washington. And the Huskies, who are coached by Michael’s godfather (Lorenzo Romar), made the cut as did Duke, Missouri, Stanford, Kentucky, UCLA, Syracuse, Indiana, Kansas and Virginia."
Missouri could be a dark horse for Porter, seeing that two of Michael's older sisters play on the school's women's team and his father working there as an assistant coach.
However, the marketability of the Duke program could easily play a huge factor, even though there's likely plenty of time left between now and Porter's decision date.
