BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Drake University women's soccer defense stepped up on the road to force a 1-1 tie with undefeated South Dakota State at Fishback Soccer Park on Sunday, Sept. 4. Drake's overall record moved to 1-4-1 while the Jackrabbits remain unbeaten at 4-0-2.
Securing a result in Brookings, S.D., is no easy feat as the Jackrabbits had won 12 consecutive home games dating back to March 21, 2021. South Dakota State is coming off an undefeated 9-0 record at home last season en route to a 17-4-3 2021 campaign.
"South Dakota State is a very good team with a veteran roster," head coach Lindsey Horner said.
