DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake women's soccer team surrendered two second half goals in a 2-0 loss against UIC at Drake Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9. The Bulldogs moved to 2-7-5 overall (1-2-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play) while the Flames (3-5-4, 3-1-2) haven't lost since Sept. 22.
Both teams settled into a relatively quiet first half. Drake goalkeeper Vianey Lopez picked up two saves in the first 15 minutes. Rachel Panther fired a shot in the final seconds of the first half that was saved by UIC's Lauren Keiser. Several shots in the first 45 minutes of the play were blocked by both teams as there was a 0-0 stalemate at halftime.
