The Drake women's soccer team beat Kansas City, 2-0, Friday afternoon at Drake Stadium. The team also recognized faculty and staff of the University prior to kickoff.
The two teams split possession through out the match and both teams recorded most of their possession time in midfield.
The Bulldogs recorded three shots in the first half, but none found the net behind Kansas City keeper Mackenzie Caldwell.
"This afternoon wasn't the prettiest of performances, but we started to look dangerous in the second half by being more dynamic in front of the ball. Again, we are thrilled to start the weekend with two set piece goals and a shutout," said head coach Lindsey Horner.
