McAllen, Texas - The Drake University women's golf team moved into fifth place in the UTRGV Invitational after shooting a final-round 295. The Bulldogs (311-308-295–914) finished one stroke ahead of Lamar and three strokes behind the hosts, UT Rio Grande Valley. New Mexico State won the tournament by 10 strokes with a three-day total of 885 over Incarnate Word (895).
Drake's 295 in the final round tied for the second-lowest total in the tournament. As a team, the Bulldogs continued to shoot well on par 4s, leading the field by five total strokes in par-4 scoring.
