CARBONDALE, ILL. – Graduate guard Maddie Petersen broke both 1000 points and 500 assists on her career in the Bulldogs 65-73 loss to Southern Illinois Sunday afternoon.
The Salukis' owned the first half as the Bulldogs struggled to make a shot. Forward's Gabby Walker and Abby Brockmeyer each scored nine points for SIU in the first 20 minutes. Both also entered foul trouble late in the second quarter.
The Bulldogs came back from halftime with a fire inside them as they went on a 13-0 run to minimize SIU's 15 point lead to only two.
