DES MOINES, IOWA -- It was a day for the record books at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championship at Drake Stadium highlighted by Dalilah Muhammad racing to a world record in the women's 400-meter hurdles on Sunday evening with a time of 52.20. The previous record was set by Russia's Yuliya Pechonkina in 2003 in a time of 52.34. Muhammad had the crowd on their feet as she came down the home stretch to beat Sydney McLaughlin who ran a season best 52.88 with Ashley Spencer third in a personal record of 53.11.
That record was one of three American records set over the four-day meet which also included Sam Kendricks with a pole vault of 19-10.
