SAINT LOUIS, Mo. - Drake University sophomore Reed Timmer (New Berlin, Wis.) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league announced Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Timmer, a member of the men's basketball team, scored 19 points in back-to-back games with eight assists in action last week. At Illinois State, he was 6-of-15 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line and added four assists to one turnover.
In the win over Bradley, Timmer got to the free-throw line 12 times and made 11 to again finish with 19 points while adding four more assists to one turnover.
