DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake men's soccer team improved to 4-2 on the season while maintaining a perfect record at home with a dramatic win over Kansas City on Monday night. The Bulldogs staved off a talented Roos team for most of Monday's match before netting two late goals to secure the win.
Drake's offensive rhythm was in-and-out in the first half, but their defense played well enough to keep Kansas City (3-2-1) off the board. The Roos outshot Drake 4-2 in the first 45-minute period while also holding the Bulldogs scoreless. Halftime came around with the two teams locked in a 0-0 tie.
