Drake University senior goalkeeper Kelsie Stone earned Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Stone recorded a season-high 10 saves in the Bulldogs' double-overtime draw against Kansas to open the season. She recorded nine saves against former MVC foe Creighton Sunday afternoon. She currently leads the MVC with a 9.50 saves per game average.
Her 10 saves against Kansas were the second highest of her career, as she tied the school record of 14 saves in a match last season.
