ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the second consecutive week Bennett Stirtz has earned a weekly Missouri Valley Conference honor. The junior guard was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Stirtz averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in Drake's two wins over UNI and Southern Illinois last week. He led the Bulldogs in scoring in both contests going for 20 points against the Panthers and tied his career-high with 30 points against the Salukis. The Liberty, Missouri native was efficient from the field going 18-for-28 (64%) over Drake's two games including 5-for-7 (71%) from three-point range.
