DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University softball team secured its 30 win of the season with a shutout of Iowa, 5-0, Wednesday night at Buel Field.
First pitch was pushed back to 6:30 p.m. after a rainstorm passed through the Des Moines metro area. The game was played in cold, blustery conditions with wind gusts of 25 miles per hour.
With its victory over Iowa (16-22), Drake (30-13) has recorded 30 or more wins four of the past five seasons as it extended its winning-streak to 16 games.
