ST. LOUIS – The Drake University softball team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference annual preseason poll as voted by the league's coaches, the MVC office announced Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Drake, who claimed the 2015 MVC regular season title after being selected sixth in the preseason poll, earned 72 points in 2016. Wichita State was tabbed the preseason favorite for the second straight season with 84 points. Missouri State (76) and UNI (74) finished just in front of the Bulldogs and Illinois State rounded out the top five with 70 points.
