DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University softball team won the first two games of its series with Bradley Saturday afternoon.

The Braves took an early lead in the top of the first after someone singled to left field, allowing one to score and take the lead 1-0.
The Bulldogs quickly responded in the bottom of the first when Emily Valtman slammed a ball to right field to put the Bulldogs on the board 1-1. Valtman's homer was her seventh this season.
Macy Johnson, Libby Ryan, and MaKayla Rice all added a run in the bottom of the first to help Drake increase its lead to 4-1.
