CHARLESTON, Ill. – Senior Makena Schoene (Seattle, Wash.) recorded a season-high 17 kills to lead the Drake University volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Eastern Illinois in its first game at the EIU Panther Classic on Friday, Sept. 9. The Bulldogs won the match by set scores of 25-18, 25-9, 23-25, 25-13.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 7-2 on the season heading into the second day of EIU Panther Classic.
Schoene's 17 kills came on 32 attempts while junior Kameo Pope (Belle Plaine, Iowa) added nine kills and four blocks.
