NORMAL, Ill. – Drake women's tennis lost its second match in as many days with a 5-2 result at Illinois State. The Bulldogs battled after losing the doubles point, but the Missouri Valley Conference leading Redbirds sent Drake home with the loss.
Illinois State (10-6, 3-0) got an early lead after winning the No. 1 and 2 doubles bouts. Lana Caculovic/Silvia Pomarolli and Elena Jankulovska/Emma Lindh were victories over Jessia Popiol/Laura Koralnik and Nicole Lee/Tess Caldicott, respectively. The duo of Jana Ruzic and Shiori Takeda made sure Drake did not go winless in doubles action with their second victory in the Bulldogs' last three matches.
