Victories by former Drake standouts Reed Fischer and Brogan Austin highlighted Thursday night's Distance Carnival in the 110th running of the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee.
The annual distance carnival was contested in front of 8,756 fans, a record for the Thursday session of the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee. The action on the Blue Oval warmed up the iconic venue as Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays, also unveiled the final elite invitational fields. Those event fields are available here.
Fischer raced to his third straight victory in the men's 5000 to wrap up the session, becoming just the second runner to win the race three years in a row.
