Drake University's Emily Plock and Caitlyn Smith have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Plock was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team following a breakout junior season while Smith earned an honorable mention selection.
A total of 33 student-athletes were nominated for the team with just 19 earning the honor. Nominees must be starters or important reserves with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 75-percent of the regular-season matches.
Plock, who maintains a 3.55 GPA as a health sciences major, was voted onto the team after leading Drake in kills with 472 this past season.
