DES MOINES, Iowa - The San Diego Toreros overcame a cold November rain and the Pioneer Football League's top defense to defeat the Drake University football team, 27-10, Saturday afternoon at Drake Stadium.
The win was San Diego's (6-2, 6-0 PFL) 27th-straight conference victory to maintain first place in the PFL standings.
Drake (5-2, 4-2 PDL) surrendered just 343 yards against the league's top offense and the Drake defense continued to make big plays, including a 26-yard interception return for a touchdown by Jeran Proctor that accounted for the Bulldogs' lone touchdown of the day.
