Drake's Roman Penn has been named to the Lou Henson Award mid-season watchlist, CollegeInsider.com announced this week.
The Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball, honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons.
Penn, a junior, is averaging 13.0 points and 5.2 assists per game for the 15-0 Bulldogs with an assist-to-turnover ratio of more than 2-to-1. He's shooting 55.8 percent from the floor and 40.5 percent from three-point range.
