With a golden goal from junior Rachel Panther in the 100th minute, the Drake University women's soccer team advances to the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Tournament after defeating UNI, 3-2, for the second time in four days.
The wind and cold presented a challenge for both teams throughout the match.
Drake opened scoring in the quarterfinal match, when senior Libby Helverson scored in the 13th minute for the Bulldogs to take the early lead.
The Panthers attempted to craft numerous scoring opportunities, but were stopped by Drake keeper Kelsie Stone and the Bulldogs back line.
