BROOKINGS, S.D. – No. 3 South Dakota State defeated the Drake University football team, 38-10, Saturday afternoon at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
Drake (0-3) dropped its final non-conference game. South Dakota State won (2-1) its second-straight game after it lost its opener at Minnesota.
"They're a very good football team," said Drake head football coach Todd Stepsis. "I'm very excited to see us improve again from week one to week two to today. They're the best defense we've faced and on defense we gave up too many big plays. When you face elite speed like theirs it can expose you with missed tackles.
