OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Redshirt senior Nicole Newman (Madison, Wis.) of the Drake University softball team has earned the final USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week honor for the 2019 season. Announced today by USA Softball, Newman recorded double-digit strikeouts in each outing in the circle at the MVC tournament, including pitching her fifth perfect game of the season.
"I am truly honored to receive this award on the national level," said Newman. "I am so excited for what's in store next with this team as we head into the postseason.
