DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake University men's basketball team jumped out to an 11-0 lead and (Stoughton, Wis.) scored a career-high 23 points as the Bulldogs cruised past visiting Evansville, 81-65 at the Knapp Center Saturday, Jan. 13. The win kept the Bulldogs in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings at 5-1 and undefeated at the Knapp Center this season.
Drake (11-8, 5-1 MVC) drained nine three-pointers and shot 9-of-20 from the three-point arc in the win with four different Bulldogs making multiple three-pointers. C.J. Rivers (Cahokia, Ill.) recorded his first career double-double and was three assists shy of a triple-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
