CHICAGO, Ill. – Drake track and field wrapped up their 2-day stint at the MVC Indoor Championships in Chicago. The Bulldog women finished in sixth as a team while the Drake men came in sixth thanks to two total champions and four other podium finishes.
Tyla Lumley earned the first of Drake's two individual titles on Sunday evening with a win in the women's 5,000m run. Lumley crossed the line in 16:32.64 to capture the distance crown. Breanna Burak was not far behind Lumley with a fourth-place finish in 16:51.90, good enough for a new personal best.
