DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University's Knapp Center received more than $700,000 of upgrades during the summer, including the complete replacement of the Knapp Center courts and installation of a state-of-the-art lighting system.
The replacement of the court marks the first time since 1992 that all 28,388 square feet of the Knapp Center floor has been replaced. The center game court, known as Ron Pearson Court was replaced in 2006.
"I'm excited about how well the new Knapp Center court and lights look and how it will enhance our student-athlete and fan experience at the Knapp Center," said Drake University director of athletics Brian Hardin.
