DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women's basketball team followed up a New Year's Day rout at Bradley with an even more impressive performance, rolling past Missouri Valley Conference newcomer Belmont 94-63 at the Knapp Center on Friday night.
Sarah Beth Gueldner's career-high 23 points, buoyed by a career-best seven three-pointers, led the Bulldogs as they swept past a team that has played in the last six NCAA tournaments. It was the most points anyone has scored this season on Belmont, which has faced the likes of power-conference opponents Iowa, Louisville, Georgia and Villanova.
