DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's soccer team could not chase down the Jayhawks of Kansas in their 2024 Mediacom Stadium debut. The Bulldogs allowed the game's lone score in the late stages of the first half but could not scratch a tally on the board for themselves, despite a great defensive showing.
Drake (0-1-1) and Kansas (2-0-0) fought through the first 42 minutes of action with nothing to show but missed shots. Eventually, KU's Emika Kawagishi (43') corralled a loose ball in the box and fired a score off her right foot.
